Sapporo, located on the northern island of Japan “Hokkaido”, is the forth largest city in Japan with almost two million residents. Sapporo and surrounding areas are one of the most popular tourist destination in Japan. It is known for great food, abundant nature, and of course, for beer! June-August is one of the peak travel season for Sapporo and the rest of Hokkaido.
Accessing Sapporo is quite easy. Sapporo Chitose International Airport (CTS) is served by major airlines. Between Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) and CTS, there are flights every 30 to 60 minutes, flown both by ANA (Star Alliance) and JAL (Oneworld) often with Boeing 777. Several flights a day allow you to easily access other popular tourist destinations in Japan, Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya, Okinawa, etc.
We hope you enjoy visiting the city of Sapporo, and other parts of Japan on the way to/back from the conference.
